SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Savannah College of Art and Design defeated Darton College 158-100 in a men's swimming meet Saturday (Jan. 23) afternoon on Senior Day at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.
SCAD won 11 of the 14 events competed. SCAD improved to 3-1 on the season and will return to action Saturday (Jan. 30) with a 2 p.m. meet against Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.
Four swimmers each claimed two wins for the Bees.
Alex Graudins claimed victories in both the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events. He established a new university mark in the 1,000 with a time of 9:29.56 and won the 500 with a time of 4:35.37. Other double winners for SCAD included
Thomas Gibson (100 breaststroke - 57.94; 200 breaststroke - 2:09.02),
Vitali Pushkar-Verbitsky (100 backstroke - 52.27; 100 butterfly - 50.38) and
Stephen Sullivan (200 backstroke - 1:57.67; 400 individual medley - 4:15.75).
Chris Wilson (200 butterfly - 1:59.24) also picked up a victory for the Bees.
