DULUTH, Ga. - The University of North Carolina Charlotte defeated the Savannah College of Art and Design 10-4 in the first round of the 2009 South Eastern Lacrosse Conference Division II Men's Tournament Friday (April 24) evening at Chattahoochee High School.
The 49ers, who are seeded fifth in the six-team tournament, avenged an earlier 8-4 loss to the Bees during the regular season. UNCC (7-4) advances to face top seed Emory University in a 12:15 p.m. semifinal match Saturday (April 25). SCAD, which is ranked 23rd in the MCLA and was ranked fourth in the tournament, ended its season at 6-12.
