ATHENS, Tenn. - Davenport University defeated the Savannah College of Art and Design men's lacrosse team 13-9 Friday (Feb. 20) afternoon on the first day of the TWC Lacrosse Invitational.
The Bees, who are ranked No. 13 in MCLA Division II, fell to 0-4. SCAD has dropped decisions now to three ranked teams this season as Davenport entered the match at No. 21. SCAD looks to get in the victory column tomorrow (Feb. 21) when they face tournament host Tennessee Wesleyan College in a 1 p.m. match.
SCAD was led by
Derek Shurson's four goals and one assist while teammate
John Healy contributed one goal and three assists.
Shelton Polka,
Michael Molinaro,
Trey McKay and
Brandon Ussery each tallied a goal for the Bees while McKay also registered an assist.
Kenan Degirmenci recorded 21 saves in net for the Bees.
