ALBANY, Ga. - The Savannah College of Art and Design men's swimming team defeated Darton College 141-130 Saturday (Nov. 21) afternoon.
The Bees improved to 2-1 and will be back in action Dec. 3 as SCAD hosts the annual College Invitational at the Chatham Country Aquatic Center.
The Bees had the fastest times in seven of the 16 events competed against the Cavaliers, including the 200-yard medley relay.
SCAD had two multiple winners in the meet.
Vitali Pushkar-Verbitsky won three events while teammate
Alex Graudins captured two.
Pushkar-Verbitsky won the 50 backstroke (23.96), 50 freestyle (21.28) and the 50 butterfly (23.30) while Graudins claimed victories in the 1,000 freestyle (9:35.73) and 200 freestyle (1:43.62). For the second time this season, Graudins established a new university record in the 1,000 freestyle.
Stephen Sullivan recorded the other win for the men as he captured the 100 backstroke in a time of 54.65.
