    Assistant Coach
Anita Maryskova joins SCAD as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach, bringing a wealth of international playing experience, professional accolades, and coaching expertise to the program. She has competed at the highest levels of European soccer, including representing the Czech Women’s National Team at U-15 and U-19 levels, starring for AC Sparta Prague—where she was a starting player in six National Championship victories, including four consecutive titles—and becoming the youngest starter for 1.FFC Dresden in Germany at just 16 years old.

As a player, Anita was listed in the NWSL Draft in 2019. While she was not selected, she earned a tryout with the Portland Thorns in winter 2019. In 2021, she won the WPSL Desert Conference Championship while helping her team achieve the second-longest winning streak in league history (18 games). She remains an active competitor in the USL W League. Collegiately, she was recruited to play D1 at Cal State Bakersfield. After her freshmen year, she transferred to Brevard College where she broke all kinds of school records while ranking top 5 in the conference for total points. Anita concluded her playing career while earning her MBA at Northwest Nazarene where she helped her team breaking all the school records, made it to the post-season for the first time ever, and also making her mark in the GNAC history books for being ranked in top 4 for the total assists per game.

Her certifications include the NCCP Nutrition Certificate, United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper License, and CECP Life Coach Level 1 certification, complementing her UEFA “B” Soccer Coaching License. She is currently working on the UEFA "A" through the Irish FA.

Anita’s coaching career is equally distinguished. She led Cochise College to the NJCAA Region I title in 2021, propelling the team into the national top 20 and coaching three-time NJCAA All-American Maria Azarias. Most recently, at Youngstown State University (D1), she mentored two-time Academic All-American Justine Appolonia and developed several players who went on to play professionally. Her impact helped the team to reach the Horizon League Finals in 2023. She has also served as a coach and scout for the Czech Regional National Team, demonstrating her commitment to elite player development and talent identification.

Throughout her career, Anita has been coached and mentored by some of the most successful soccer minds in the USA and worldwide, shaping her own coaching philosophy of tactical intelligence, technical precision, and holistic athlete development.

Anita’s combination of high-level playing experience, proven coaching success, and global perspective makes her an invaluable asset to SCAD’s Women’s Soccer program.

Maryskova holds two degrees, a B.A. In Business and Organizational Leadership, and MBA in Business Administration.
