At the University of Tennessee (2011–2015), Molly was a 14-time All-American and four-time SEC Champion. She made history as a freshman by breaking the 1:00 barrier in the 100-yard breast at the SEC Championships, and later helped Tennessee claim two NCAA relay titles. In 2014, she won her first national title in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.42), adding to her reputation as one of the fastest breaststrokers in the country.
Her international breakthrough came in 2016 when she qualified for the Rio Olympics by finishing second in the 200m breaststroke at the U.S. Trials. Known for her strategic creativity, she drew national attention for modifying her underwater pullout technique—a bold move that helped secure her Olympic berth. She went on to win two gold medals (200m & 400m medley relays) and two bronze medals (50m & 100m breaststroke) at the 2016 Short Course World Championships.
Molly also competed in the International Swimming League (ISL) with the Cali Condors, helping the team win the 2020 ISL championship and earning individual podium finishes in multiple events. During the pandemic-era ISL season, she became a voice for athletes navigating the intense “Budapest Bubble,” demonstrating mental toughness and leadership.
As a coach, Molly has worked with swimmers of all levels—serving as a Volunteer Assistant at Tennessee, a clinician with the Fitter and Faster Swim Tour, and Assistant Coach at Georgia Coastal Aquatics. She is known for her ability to break down video, enhance technique through power and speed training, and provide targeted feedback that helps athletes progress quickly.
Molly earned her bachelor's degree in Sport Management from the University of Tennessee.
