Emily Cabrera is entering her second season as the assistant coach for SCAD Women's Lacrosse. During her first season Cabrera helped guide SCAD to a 15-4 overall record, a Sun Conference Tournament Runner-Up finish, and a NAIA National Semifinal appearance.
Cabrera joined SCAD after serving as Head Coach at Life University for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In her first year leading the program, she guided the team to a 10-6 overall record and a semifinal appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. She was promoted to Head Coach in the summer of 2022 after working as a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Coach, during which time she helped elevate the program from receiving national poll votes to a third-place national ranking in the NAIA. Her work focused on defensive structure and goaltender development, with the team allowing an average of just nine goals per game.
She holds a Master’s degree in Sport Health Science with a concentration in Sport Coaching from Life University, earned in 2021. Cabrera’s coaching background also includes working with numerous local and regional lacrosse teams, as well as directing year-round lacrosse camps and clinics in the Atlanta area. She has extensive experience training goalies individually, helping them make successful transitions from high school to collegiate play.
A native of South Florida, Cabrera graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in 2019 with a degree in Fitness and Sport Management. She was a member of UC’s inaugural women’s lacrosse team in 2015 and recorded more than 200 career saves as a goalie. She contributed to the Patriots’ 2018 AAC Championship and 2019 MSC Championship teams.
