Benjamin “Benjy” Martinez returns to SCAD  as Assistant Bowling Coach for the 2025–26 season.

A former standout SCAD bowler, Benjy helped lead the men’s team to the 2019 NAIA National Championship and was recognized as NAIA Player of the Year in 2020. His combination of collegiate success and professional experience brings invaluable insight and leadership to the program.

During his collegiate career, Benjy achieved a season average of 215.9 and recorded the highest average differential in college bowling at 36.5. Notably, he achieved the first perfect 300 game in SCAD’s program history at the Midwest Collegiate Championships.

Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Benjy began bowling at a young age and quickly advanced to the youth national team by age 14. He competed internationally, participating in the AMF World Cup and twice at the World Youth Championships before moving to Savannah in 2016 to join SCAD’s inaugural men’s bowling team.

Following graduation, Benjy launched his professional bowling career in 2021, earning feature spots on two television shows and capturing six regional titles, further cementing his reputation as a top competitor.
