Patrick Reagan

Patrick Reagan is serving his seventh year as the head cross country and track/field coach at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Since becoming a coach at SCAD in 2011, Reagan has coached sixty-four runners and seven teams that have qualified for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships. Patrick has also coached thirty-nine artist-athletes to qualification for the NAIA Track and Field Championships. Reagan has coached two artist-athletes to NAIA XC All-American honors. In addition, he has coached five artist-athletes to seven NAIA Track/Field All-American Honors. During his time as an assistant, Reagan also coached one NAIA Track/Field All American.

Under Reagan's leadership, three SCAD men's team and four SCAD women's teams have qualified for the NAIA XC Championships. The SCAD women’s cross country team have won four Sun Conference Cross Country Championships under Reagan’s guidance (2013-2016).  The men have won three The Sun Conference Cross Country Championships in a row (2015-2017).  The men’s program won their first Sun Conference Championship in 2015 placing six men in the top 10 with a score of 19 points.  In 2016, the men’s program won their second TSC Championship placing 6 men in the top 10 with a score of 16 points. The SCAD men finished their 2015 season by placing 12th at the NAIA XC Championships.  In 2016, the men placed 21st at the NAIA XC Championships.  The women have earned four berths to the NAIA Cross Country Championship, finishing 24th of 32 teams in 2013, 22nd of 37 teams in 2014, 23rd of 36 teams in 2015, and 22nd of 36 teams in 2016.

Coach Reagan's teams have achieved NAIA Cross Country rankings during his time as head coach. The women's cross country team received a 10th place ranking in 2014 after winning the Sand Shark Cross Country Invite, placing five women in the top 20 individuals. The men were, at one point, ranked 6th during the 2016 NAIA XC regular season.

Reagan has coached thirty-three women and thirty-five men to TSC All-Conference cross country awards since becoming involved as a coach at SCAD. Reagan coached the 2013 and 2014 TSC women’s cross country newcomers of the year, while also coaching the 2015 and 2016 TSC men's cross country newcomers of the year. Reagan coached the 2014 TSC women’s cross country individual champion.  He also coached the 2015 and 2016 TSC men's cross country individual champions. As assistant, Reagan coached the 2011 TSC women’s cross country individual champion.

Reagan has also led nine men and sixteen women to TSC track/field individual championship titles. In addition, Reagan has coached forty-four women and twenty-eight men to TSC track/field All-Conference awards.

Coach Reagan competed in cross country and track/field at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 2007-2010. Reagan attained a B.S. in Exercise Science at SRU. As a collegiate runner, Reagan became a two time NCAA Division II Cross Country All-American. In 2007, Reagan placed 12th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, leading his team to a 9th place finish. In 2009, Reagan finished 34th at the USA Cross Country National Championships. At the same championship, he was the first man under 23 to cross the finish line.

In January of 2016, Reagan qualified for the Olympic Trials Marathon after racing to a personal best of 1:04.29 at the Jacksonville Bank Half Marathon.  Reagan finished 33rd at the 2016 USATF Olympic Marathon Trials in Los Angeles, CA.  In April of 2016, Reagan finished runner-up at the USATF 100K National Championships in 6:35.56.  His personal best at 100K is the 7th fastest time run in North American History. In August of 2016, Reagan finished 3rd at the 2016 UltraVasan 90K Trail in Mora, Sweden in 6:18.12 as the top American finisher.  After being selected by the USATF, Reagan finished on the podium in 3rd place at the 2016 IAU 100K World Championships in Los Alcazares, Spain on November 27th

Reagan also led Team USA to a 3rd place finish and a New American Record in accrued time at the IAU 100K World Championships (20:03:03-Patrick Reagan, Geoff Burns, Chikara Omine). Reagan’s time at the IAU 100K World Championships ranks as the 5th World’s Best of 2016.

In 2017, Reagan was named USATF Ted Corbitt Ultrarunner of the Year by the USATF Mountain/Ultra/Trail Council.  In his debut at 100 Miles, Reagan won and set a new course record at Javelina Jundred 100 Mile Endurace Run.  His time was the world’s fastest 100 Mile trail race by a male in 2017.  Reagan also finished 12th at the prestigious Comrades Marathon and 2nd at Ultravasan 90K in 2017.
 
As a post collegiate runner, Reagan has posted road and trail racing personal bests of 14:37 for 5K, 19:18 for 4 Miles, 24:07 for 8K, 24:11 for 5 miles, 29:51 for 10K, 1:04.29 for the half marathon, 2:20.05 for the full-marathon (debut), and 3:00.23 for 50K (Trail), 5:14.48 for 50 miles (Road), and 6:35.42 for 100K (Road), and 13:01.14 for 100 Miles (Trail).
