James Berry is the Head Athletic Trainer at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), serving through Chatham Orthopedics. With over a decade of experience in athletic training, James specializes in injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and wellness for collegiate athletes.
Since joining SCAD in 2019, he has played a key role in supporting student-athletes’ health and performance, providing hands-on care, designing individualized rehabilitation programs, and ensuring safe return-to-play protocols. His career includes prior roles with Memorial Health, Orthopedic Physicians Alaska, Georgia College, and various athletic organizations, giving him diverse expertise across collegiate, high school, industrial, and event-based athletic care.
James holds both a Master’s degree in Human Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Georgia College and State University. Dedicated to promoting athlete wellness both on and off the field, he blends clinical expertise with a deep commitment to community health and performance excellence.
