Tanner Popovich is now entering his second year as Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach at SCAD. In his first year, he joined Head Coach Justin Moe in strengthening the program with his background as a former NAIA player, an experienced recruiter, and a coach well-versed in the lacrosse landscape. In year one, Tanner helped the squad achieved three home victories, two wins on the road, and remained competitive throughout the season despite a challenging schedule.
Before SCAD, Tanner served as Assistant Coach at the University of the Cumberlands, where he played a key role in designing and implementing practices, game-day strategies, strength and conditioning programs aimed at improving performance and reducing injuries. During the 2024 season, he helped guide the team to a program-record shooting percentage, and seven offensive players achieved career highs in goals, assists, and points, with three earning All-Conference honors.
Tanner earned both his B.S. in Exercise Science (2022) and MBA (2024) from the University of the Cumberlands.
