Justin is a former touring golf professional and collegiate golfer who joins SCAD ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Growing up at a young age in Minnesota, Justin naturally grew to love the game of hockey and became an avid junior hockey player. When Justin was 11 years old, his family moved to Northern California. This is when his love for golf began to grow.
At age 16, and with his family’s move to the Philadelphia area, Justin hung up his skates to focus on his golf game. It didn’t take long before Justin was winning many local golf tournaments, and he began to travel across the country to play in numerous junior golf tournaments. With this success, the next stop was university.
Justin attended the University of Delaware on a golf scholarship. In his tenure there, he won six Division 1 collegiate events, the Colonial Athletic Association Conference Championship (2010), the Philadelphia Amateur(2010), Delaware Amateur (2010) and Delaware Open (2009 and 2011).
After graduating from the University of Delaware in 2011, Justin turned professional. For the next 10 years he chased the web.com tour (Korn Ferry Tour) and PGA Tour Monday qualifiers while maintaining a rigorous mini tour schedule. He competed on various mini tours including the Hooters NGA Tour, eGolf Tour and Swingthought Tour.
In 2021 Justin made a career change and became the First Assistant Golf Professional at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, GA. His main passion while there was coaching/instruction. Through his experience of instructing golfers of all levels, he learned that he had the most knowledge to impart to college golfers and young professionals. He believes that without this experience he never would have found the opportunity to become a college coach.
Justin is excited to help grow the golf program at SCAD and help lead the team to many victories in the future!
