KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The postseason journey continues for the No. 3-seeded SCAD women's lacrosse team. The Bees have officially earned a berth to the 2026 NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championship in Decatur, Alabama.

SCAD will open its national tournament run in the quarterfinals against the No. 6 seed, Marian University (Ind.), on Wednesday, May 11th.

The Bees head into the NAIA National Championship following a dominant regular season and an undefeated run through the Sun Conference. Under the guidance of Sun Conference Coach of the Year Tyler Yelken, the team has relied on a high-powered offense, averaging nearly 17 goals per game, and a suffocating defense that excels at forcing turnovers and dominating ground balls.

SCAD's success has been heavily driven by elite individual performances on both ends of the field. Midfielder Ellen Benintendi has been an unstoppable force, leading the team with 76 points on 58 goals and 18 assists. She also controls the pace of the game in the circle, boasting a staggering 117 draw controls while adding 22 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. On the defensive end, Mollie Geiger has been an absolute anchor for the Bees, pacing the roster with 28 caused turnovers and 27 ground balls to consistently disrupt opponent transitions.

A win against the Knights in the quarterfinals would propel the Bees into the national semifinals, bringing them one step closer to the ultimate goal of raising a red banner in Decatur.

Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to the SCAD Athletics website and social media channels for the official game time announcement, as well as live streaming links and tournament updates.
