HARDEEVILLE S.C. – The No. 4 SCAD Men's Lacrosse Team celebrated Senior Day at today's game against Montreat College and secured a 20-9 victory.
RECORDS: The Bees boosted their record to 14-3 overall, 7-2 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). The Cavaliers are now 6-10 with a 2-7 AAC record.
DID YOU KNOW?: During today's game
Mason Hickman broke SCAD's single season goal scoring record with 68 goals, and tied the single game goal scoring record with eight.
Sebastian Manuel broke the single season points record with 83, in addition to the single season assist record he has held since March 16
th's game against Tennessee Wesleyan University, now having 45 assists this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cavaliers took the first goal of the game, but the Bees quickly responded. One goal each from
Travis Cheristin and
Jonathan O'Bryant Graves supplemented four goals by
Mason Hickman to end the first quarter 6-3.
The Bees maintained their lead, scoring seven goals in the second quarter.
Sebastian Manuel,
Hunter Currie, and
Noah Moreland each scored their first goals of the game. SCAD put up a fight on both sides of the field, only allowing one goal from the Cavaliers.
After recognizing their graduating seniors in a halftime ceremony, SCAD started the third period off strong.
Jonathan O'Bryant Graves scored his fourth goal of the day just 39 seconds into the quarter with an assist from
Mason Hickman.
Adam Leblanc secured his first goal of the game a few minutes after while the Bees were man down, allowing the Bees to head into the fourth quarter with a nine point lead.
The Cavaliers outscored the Bees by one goal in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to close the gap between them. SCAD ended the game triumphant with a 20-9 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Mason Hickman and
Sebastian Manuel put on an offensive performance to remember. Hickman had eight goals and two assists while Manuel had three goals and three assists.
Jonathan O'Bryant Graves stood out across the field with five goals and six ground balls.
On the faceoff,
Lucas Martinez had a win record of 21-26, and
Jackson Meyer won three of five.
David Nebus held up the defensive front with four caused turnovers.
Noah Moreland and
Cameron Clark both had two for the Bees.
