JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — The SCAD Bees cycling team delivered a consistent string of top-tier performances at the Milligan Race Weekend, capturing multiple podium victories and top-10 finishes.
The Bees had a stellar opening day, where the squad secured multiple top-ten finishes in the Road Race. On the women's side,
Jette Aelken led the charge with a standout second-place podium finish, while teammate
Macy Lester secured seventh. The men's squad mirrored this success, with
Carlos Perez powering his way to a third-place finish to claim a spot on the podium. He was joined in the top ten by
Guillermo Carpio, who crossed the line in seventh place to round out a productive first day of competition for the program.
The Bees continued their success into the second day of competition, shifting focus to the criterium races.
Aelken delivered a standout performance for the women's squad, powering her way to a definitive first-place victory. She was supported by
Lester, who showcased a strong performance to nab a sixth-place finish. On the men's side, the momentum remained high as
Perez navigated a competitive field to secure eighth place, rounding out a weekend of consistent top-ten results for the program.
The Bees are back in action on Saturday, March 28-Sunday March, 29 at the Auburn Race Weekend in Auburn, Ala.
