No. 3 Women’s Lacrosse Powers Past Eastern Connecticut State in 13-6 Win

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. — The No. 3 SCAD Savannah women's lacrosse team continued its winning ways on Monday morning, securing a 13-6 victory over NCAA DIII Eastern Connecticut State University.

RECORDS: The Bees improve to 5-1 on the season, while the Warriors drop to 1-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD established an early rhythm, outscoring Eastern Connecticut State 4-2 in the first quarter. Ellen Benintendi and Karley Holland provided the spark for the Bees' attack, helping SCAD maintain a two-goal cushion heading into the second period.
The Bees' defense tightened up in the middle frames, limiting the Warriors to just one goal in the second quarter and two in the third. Meanwhile, the SCAD offense remained consistent, adding three goals in the second and four in the third to extend the lead to 11-5.
In the final quarter, the Bees' defensive unit, led by goalkeeper Lorna Fowles, held firm against a six-shot effort from the Warriors. SCAD added two final goals, including scores from Holland and McKinsey Brown, to finalize the 13-6 result.

  • Goalkeeper Lorna Fowles earned the win, recording nine saves in a complete 60-minute performance.
