DEMOREST, Ga. — The SCAD Bees cycling team wrapped up a successful weekend at the North Beast Cycling Classic, punctuated by a second-place overall finish for the women and a third-place finish for the men.
The women's team set a blistering pace in the team time trial, finishing with a collective time of
17:37:15.6, while the men secured their podium spot with a time of
17:49:01.1.
Women's Highlights
The Bees set the tone early in the Collegiate 4/5 division:
- Laura Croll led the charge with a standout second-place finish.
- Jett Francis followed closely to claim third.
- Laura Croll also dominated the road race, sprinting to a definitive first-place victory.
- In the Collegiate 1/2/3 Criterium, Ava Wilson secured second place, while Valentina Ferreyra battled for a strong fifth-place finish.
Men's Highlights
The men's squad stayed competitive in a high-speed field, particularly during the Criterium:
- Sam Mayer powered his way to a third-place podium finish.
- Carlos Perez crossed the line right behind him, earning a solid fourth place in the Collegiate 1/2/3 Crit.
The Bees are back in action double time for the Milligan Race Weekend in Johnson City, Tenn. and the Outdoor Capital Classic in Jackson, Ga. On Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22.
