Cycling Names Four Artist-Athletes to the 2026 USA Cycling Collegiate All-Star Team

2/6/2026 12:31:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Four elite cyclists from SCAD have been named to the 2026 USA Cycling Collegiate All-Star team, marking a significant milestone for the program.

The relaunch of the initiative recognizes the top performers in the nation, providing them with the opportunity to compete in a composite team at the prestigious Redlands Bicycle Classic.

The selections follow a dominant 2025 season for SCAD, where student-athletes demonstrated the consistency and leadership required for elite-level competition. Representing the Bees on the women's roster are Ava Wilson and Jette Aelken. On the men's side, Samuel Mayer and Andy Scarano earned their spots among the eight riders selected for the national squad.

The program is designed to bridge the gap between collegiate racing and the professional ranks. As part of the All-Star team, these four student-athletes will receive elite-level support, including a dedicated crew of directors, mechanics, and soigneurs during their week of racing.

"Collegiate cycling plays a critical role in athlete development in the United States," said Vanessa Drummond, Collegiate Manager at USA Cycling.

By bringing together top talent from across the country, the program highlights the strength of varsity programs like the one at SCAD. The Bees' presence accounts for 25 percent of the total All-Star roster, the most of any college or university, further cementing the school's reputation as a leader in the cycling community.

USA Cycling has established a clear pathway for future selections, with the 2026 Collegiate Road National Championships in Madison, Wisconsin, serving as the qualifying event for the 2027 program. With the championships scheduled for May 7-10, the current roster of Bees will look to maintain their momentum and secure future honors on the national stage.
