Lecanto, Fla. – SCAD Savannah men's golf turned in a gritty performance at The Battle at Black Diamond, finishing sixth overall in a strong nine-team field that featured some of the top programs in the NAIA. The Bees closed the event at +16, placing just behind Bryan College (+11) and ahead of New College of Florida (+17).
Individually, Conrad Gall led the way for SCAD, finishing at +1, good for a share of 11th place on the leaderboard. Gall's consistency was a highlight across the two rounds, with 13 pars recorded – tied for second-most in the tournament.
Felix Straub and Luke Guthrie provided key support, each carding competitive rounds. Straub ended at +5, tying for 26th, while Guthrie matched him with a +5 finish of his own. Guthrie also showcased his scoring ability, notching three birdies during the event.
Valentin Klawitter added a steady presence for the Bees, finishing at +6 (T-39). Klawitter impressed on the par 5s, where he ranked among the event's best at 4.25 strokes, three under par.
Rounding out the team, Connor Scott came in at +7 (T-42). While Scott faced some challenges, he still produced three birdies and showed flashes of strong play.
Individually competing, Connor Wolf battled through the field to finish at +13, gaining valuable tournament experience for the Bees.
Palm Beach State captured the team title at -7, but SCAD's performance against a deep lineup of regional rivals showed depth and potential as the season continues.
The Bees will look to build on this effort as they move into the next stretch of their fall schedule, with Gall's steady play and Klawitter's power on display as key strengths.
