SAVANNAH, GA – The three seed SCAD women's lacrosse team faced a tough challenge in the NAIA National Championship Semifinal, falling to two seed Benedictine College with a final score of 25-11 on May 1, 2025. This defeat brings the Bees' record to 15-4.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 15-4, while Benedictine improves to 20-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The match started with a flurry of goals, as both teams exchanged tallies early on. SCAD's Ellen Benintendi scored to tie the game at 1-1, but Benedictine quickly regained the lead. The first quarter ended with SCAD trailing 9-4, despite strong efforts from McKinsey Brown, who netted four goals throughout the match.
In the second quarter, SCAD aimed to close the gap but struggled with turnovers and penalties. Goals from Emma Roch and McKinsey Brown kept the Bees competitive, yet they went into halftime down 17-6.
The Bees fought hard in the second half, with McKinsey Brown and Karley Holland contributing to the scoreboard. However, Benedictine's relentless offense and strong defense stifled SCAD's attempts to mount a comeback, leading to a 25-11 final score.
