Women's Lacrosse Defeats Life University On Senior Day

HARDEEVILLE, SC – The No. 2 SCAD women's lacrosse team continued their impressive run with a hard-fought victory against No. 10 Life University, clinching a 17-15 win on April 12, 2025.

RECORDS: The Bees now boast a record of 13-2 overall and a formidable 6-1 in conference play, while Life Uiversity stands at 8-7 with a 6-4 record in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD displayed an explosive offensive performance right from the start. McKinsey Brown led the charge with an outstanding contribution of five goals and four assists, showcasing her playmaking abilities and scoring prowess. Ellen Benintendi was instrumental as well, scoring four goals and providing three crucial assists, effectively leading the Bees throughout the match.

The team's depth was evident, with several players stepping up at key moments. Emma Roch and Karley Holland each added two goals to the tally, while Rylen Gray, Molly Wilson, and Riley O'Keefe contributed one goal each, demonstrating the balanced attack that SCAD is known for. The Bees secured their lead with strong showings in the first and third quarters, maintaining control despite Life University's push in the fourth.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: McKinsey Brown's impressive performance resulted in a total of nine points, highlighting her pivotal role in the game. The offense was further supported by Ellen Benintendi's seven points, underscoring the Bees' effective collaboration on the attack. The Bees also excelled in possession, collecting 22 draw controls and limiting their turnovers, showcasing their disciplined play throughout the match.

Goalkeepers Lorna Fowles and Chloe Zundel combined for nine saves, ensuring their defense remained resilient against Life's aggressive offense.

Emma Roch has been a force offensively, scoring 35 goals and assisting on 10 others, while also demonstrating leadership on the field. Natalie Palmeri, has been a vital asset defensively, contributing to the team's overall strategy and success.
