SCAD Earns Three Sun Conference Player of the Week Honors

TAMPA, Fla. – SCAD has earned three Sun Conference Player of the Week Honors for the week ending October 26.
 
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Saga Bryntesson | Sophomore | Arvika, Sweden | Goalkeeper
 
Bryntesson had a strong showing in goal for the Bees this week as SCAD went 1-0-1 in SUN action. In the 0-0 tie against St. Thomas, the Sophomore totaled a season-high eight saves, followed by one in the Bees' 4-0 win over Florida Memorial to pick up her ninth and tenth shutouts of the season. This season, Bryntesson has 49 saves and only 13 goals against and currently leads the conference in shutouts.
 
The Bees will host a Sun Conference Quarterfinal on Wednesday, November 5, at 4:00 p.m. Opponent to be determined.
 
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Talia Sullivan | Graduate | Lustleigh, Devon, England
 
Sullivan placed fifth in the field of 187 as SCAD's top finisher in the NAIA Appalachian Challenge on Friday. The graduate student led the No. 14 Bees to a third-place finish, just behind No. 2 Milligan and No. 3 University of the Cumberlands.
 
The Bees will host the Sun Conference Championship on Saturday, November 8, in Hardeeville, S.C.
 
Women's Golfer of the Week
Yunyi Luo | Sophomore | Shenzen, GuangDong, China
 
Luo led her team to a third-place finish at the Lady Roadrunner Fall Invite hosted by Dalton State this week. The sophomore shot a three-round score of 223 to finish as the Runner-Up, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
 
SCAD will compete at the College of Coastal Georgia on February 9-10.
