AVE MARIA, Fla. – The SCAD women's soccer team delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on Thursday, rolling to a 6–0 victory over Ave Maria on the road. The Bees controlled play from start to finish, scoring twice in the first half and adding four more after the break to secure their third conference win of the year.
Haidyn Jenkins and Irma Olesen each recorded braces to pace the offense, while Mina Haggstrom and Mia Gomez also found the back of the net. Saga Bryntesson earned the clean sheet in goal, making two saves as SCAD's defense limited the Gyrenes to just two shots the entire match.
The Bees set the tone early with sharp ball movement and sustained possession in the attacking third. The breakthrough came in the 19th minute when Jenkins finished confidently off a well-placed pass from Ida Akesson, giving SCAD a 1–0 lead. Just before halftime, Emily Lau served a perfect ball into the box that Haggstrom headed home to double the advantage at 2–0.
SCAD came out of halftime in complete control and never looked back. Mia Gomez struck in the 63rd minute to extend the lead, followed quickly by a composed finish from Jenkins in the 73rd as she tallied her second goal of the afternoon. The Bees weren't done yet—Olesen found the back of the net twice in the final 20 minutes, first converting from Clara Howe's assist and later slotting home from a crisp passing sequence set up by Tatum D'Apolito and Ella Nilsson.
SCAD outshot Ave Maria 23–2 and recorded a 7–1 advantage in corner kicks, keeping the Gyrenes under pressure for all 90 minutes. Elsa Johansson, Emilia Irle, Lau, and Mina Haggstrom anchored a back line that stayed organized throughout, allowing Bryntesson a quiet afternoon between the posts.
With the victory, SCAD improves to 7–5–2 overall and 3–1–1 in conference play, while Ave Maria falls to 4–7–3 (0–3–2). The Bees will look to carry their momentum into their next conference matchup as the regular season enters its final stretch.
