SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 4 SCAD women's lacrosse team ended its season with an 18-8 loss to No. 1 Reinhardt University on Thursday in the NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championship Semifinals.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 14-6 overall, while the Eagles improved to 16-1 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Reinhardt jumped to a 5-0 lead before SCAD got on the board with a goal from
Clarke Haas at the 4:19 mark in the first quarter. Both teams added one more goal in the first, the Bees' coming from Haas, to go into the second quarter with a score of 6-2 in favor of the Eagles.
Back-to-back goals from
Ainsley Jones and
McKinsey Brown to start the second quarter cut Reinhardt's lead in half (6-4) with 14:14 remaining in the half. Goals from
Annise Berkeley and Brown (2) tied the game on seven-all with just over five minutes remaining. The Eagles scored the final goal of the quarter to go up 8-7 heading into halftime.
Reinhardt scored five goals in the third quarter while holding SCAD scoreless, putting the Eagles up 13-7 going into the final quarter.
Ainsley Jones, assisted by
MaryGrace Gordon, scored the Bees' last goal. Reinhardt added five more goals for the 18-8 win.

Ainsley Jones each scored two.
Annise Berkeley scored one goal, and
MaryGrace Gordon had one assist.
Annise Berkeley tied a game-high six draw controls with
Clarke Haas adding four.
Emma Roch caused a game-high four turnovers, and goalies
Lorna Fowles and
Chloe Zundel split time in the cage, picking up eight and seven saves, respectively.
