HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. RV SCAD men's lacrosse team picked up its third consecutive win, defeating Point University 9-8 at home on Wednesday evening.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 4-2, 2-1 AAC, while the Skyhawks fall to 0-4, 0-2 AAC.
DID YOU KNOW? This is the best start to a season since 2020, when SCAD went 4-0 before the season was canceled due to COVID.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees scored four goals in the first quarter while now allowing Point to score to take a 4-0 lead going into the second quarter.
Both teams traded goals in the second quarter, with the Skyhawks outscoring the Bees 2-1 to go into halftime with a score of 5-2 in favor of SCAD.
The Bees scored two goals in the third quarter to Point's five to end the quarter tied 7-7.
Point scored the first goal of the final quarter, but SCAD followed with two unanswered goals to ultimately earn the 9-8 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Jordan Reeves led the offensive charge with four goals.
Sebastian Manuel totaled two goals, while
Theron Turnbull,
Mason Hickman, and
Michael Mowers totaled one goal each.
Turnbull,
Noah Moreland, and
Evan Baker added one assist apiece.
Lucas Martinez went 10-14 at face off, while
Kevin Curry went 6-7.
Reeves,
Jake Kozak, and
Dan Costigan totaled two caused turnovers, while goalie
Luke Lamendola totaled seven saves in his 60 minutes of work.
