HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 6 SCAD women's soccer team hosted No. RV Life University on Saturday in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Second Round and lost 1-0 in double overtime.
RECORDS: The Bees end the season with a 17-2-2 record, while the Running Eagles Improve to 14-4-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Despite an 11-shot second half, SCAD was not able to get on the board, while the Bees' defense held Life to only four shots, no goals, to force overtime.
Both teams totaled two shots in the first overtime period, but the score remained at 0-0, making a second overtime period necessary.
In the 106
th minute, the Running Eagles scored to go up 1-0. The Bees totaled two more shots, but it was not enough as Life held on for the 1-0 win to advance.

Sydney Chura totaled three shots on goal each, while
Berglind Baldursdottir, Abigail Siddall, Jule Stendebach, Ida Akesson, and
Abbie Biddle tallied one apiece.

Katelynn Balsiger totaled six saves in her 110 minutes of work.
HISTORIC SEASON: SCAD has had a tremendous season, winning the Sun Conference Regular Season and the Sun Conference Tournament for the first time in program history.
Katelynn Balsiger was named the Sun Conference Freshman of the Year,
Sydney Chura was named the Sun Conference Player of the Year, and Coach
Rebecca Gunn was named the Sun Conference Coach of the Year.
The Bees earned a NAIA ranking of No. 5 this season, the highest rank of any SCAD women's soccer team.
As a team, SCAD has set new records this year, including nine assists in a single game against Warner University on October 7. The Bees also took over the top spot in wins with 17, surpassing the 15 wins in 1998. The team also took the top spot in shutouts in a single season with 13.
Freshman goalie
Katelynn Balsiger topped the record books in wins in a single season with 17. The previous record was 12, set in 1998. Balsiger's 10 shutouts also set a record for most shutouts in a season, besting the nine shutouts recorded in 1999 and 2000.
