KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The SCAD men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. for the NAIA Appalachian Challenge hosted by Tennessee Wesleyan University on Friday. The women's team finished in third, while the men's team finished in 14
th.
WOMEN'S RESULTS: The No. 23 Bees took third place with 95 points in the 17-team field. SCAD finished just behind No. 2 Milligan University and No. 12 Montreat College, who finished first and second with 23 and 73 points, respectively.
Alex Midgett was SCAD's top finisher, placing eighth in the field of 169 with a 5K time of 18:22.76.
MEN'S RESULTS: The men's team ran an 8K course and the Bees finished 14
th out of the 17-team field. SCAD's top finisher was freshman
Max Heins, running a 25:58.48 to place 36
th out of 180 runners.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees return to action on November 4 for the Sun Conference Championships in Ave Maria, Fla.
