No. 3 Women’s Lacrosse Drops 13-9 to No. 4 Reinhardt University

Box Score WALESKA, Ga. – The No. 3 SCAD women's lacrosse team competed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship Finals against No. 4 Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. on Saturday.

RECORDS: The Bees are now 11-3, 7-0 AAC while the Eagles are now 10-1, 6-1 AAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees started the scoring with a goal from Hannah Smith (Vienna, Va. / Illustration). It was quickly answered by the Eagles only 13 seconds later tying the score 1-1.

Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) assisted by Sophia Milia (Birmingham, Mich. / Business of Beauty & Fragrance) scored SCAD's second goal soon followed by another goal by Smith. The Bees' goals were broken up by one Reinhardt goal.

The Eagles finished out the first quarter with two more goals giving them the lead of 4-3.

Reinhardt was the only team to score during the second quarter where they made four goals against the Bees bringing the score to 8-3.

Clarke Haas (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) scored SCAD's only goal during the third quarter at the 0:48 second mark giving the Bees their fourth goal. The Eagles scored quickly at the end of the third quarter at the 13:00 mark and the 14:00 mark.

Going into the fourth quarter, SCAD fought hard to come back with goals from Haas (4) assisted by Milia once, and Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture) assisted by Milia giving the Bees their final score of nine. Unfortunately that was not enough to keep Reinhardt at bay. The Eagles scored a total of three goals during the final quarter wrapping up the score to be 13-9.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Haas led the offensive charge with five goals and five points while Smith totaled two goals.

Plume and De Caro totaled one goal each while Milia added three assists.

Smith gained control of five ground balls with Plume tailing close behind with four and Tatum Crouch (Easton, Md. / Fashion Marketing and Management) picking up three.

Goalie Tracy Richards (Poway, Calif. / Visual Effects) totaled seven saves in her 60 minutes of work and also caused one caused turnover.

WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will wait to hear if they receive an at large bid to continue onto the NAIA National Championship on May 4th – 7th.
