WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The SCAD men's lacrosse team traveled to West Palm Beach, Fla., to face No. 4 Keiser University on Friday and lost 18-5.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 2-5, 2-4 AAC, while the Seahawks improve to 5-4, 4-2 AAC.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Keiser scored three goals before
Michael Mowers (Savannah, Ga. / Film and Television) found the back of the net to bring the score to 3-1.
Jordan Reeves (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada / Architecture) scored the second goal of the game and the last in the first quarter at the four-second mark to go into the second quarter down 5-2.
From an assist from
Aidan Heuer (Madison, Ala. / Fashion Design), Mowers scored the first goal in the second quarter to bring the score to 5-3 in the Seahawks' favor. Keiser answered with six goals in the quarter to take an 11-3 lead into halftime.
Mowers scored his third goal of the game in the third quarter, and
Evan Baker (Saint Augustine, Fla. / Furniture Design) scored in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, Keiser scored seven goals between the two quarters to bring the final score to 18-5.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Mowers led the Bees on offense with three goals for three points.
Reeves and Baker totaled one goal each, with Heuer adding an assist.
Goalie
Benny Goldberg (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Industrial Design) totaled 17 saves in 45 minutes of work and tallied a team-high five ground balls.
Ross Wiseman (Loveland, Ohio / Animation) captured five saves in 15 minutes of work.
Noah Rivaz (Cypress, Texas / Illustration) and
Zane Gannon (Murfreesboro, Tenn. / Motion Media Design) totaled two caused turnovers apiece.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will remain in Florida for an AAC match-up with Webber International University on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Babson Park.
