HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The SCAD men's lacrosse team hosted Webber International University on Sunday and lost 15-6.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 1-3 while the Warriors improve to 5-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD scored four goals in the fourth quarter to go along with one in the first and one in the third, but it was not enough as Webber International won 15-6.
Webber struck first, but SCAD Answered at the 8:04 mark in the first quarter when
Evan Baker (Saint Augustine, Fla. / Furniture Design) found the back of the net off the assist from
Aidan Heuer (Madison, Ala. / Fashion Design). The Warriors scored another goal in the first quarter to take a 2-1 lead.
Unfortunately, the Bees did not score in the second quarter and went into halftime down 8-1.
Jordan Reeves (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada / Architecture) scored SCAD's only goal in the third quarter at the 12:55 mark but Webber scored five goals to go up 13-2 heading into the final quarter.
The Bees held the Warriors to only two goals in the fourth quarter with Reeves,
Dalton Rice (Palm Coast, Fla. / Production Design), Seth Leister (Palm Coast, Fla. / User Experience (UX) Design) and
Javin Shackelford (Miamisburg, Ohio / Film and Television) combining for four goals off assists from Leister,
Theron Turnbull (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Architecture) (2) to bring the final score to 15-6.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Reeves totaled two goals while Leister, Baker, Rice and Shackelford added one each.
Turnbull added two assists with Leister and Heuer totaling one a piece.
Noah Rivaz (Cypress, Texas / Illustration) led the team in ground balls with three while
Kevin Curry (Sandy Hook, Conn. / User Experience (UX) Design) added two.
Dylan Doremus (Milford, N.J. / Graphic Design),
Luca Colafella (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Dramatic Writing), Baker and
Jake Kozak (Bel Air, Md. / Illustration) totaled two caused turnovers each.
Goalie
Benny Goldberg (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Industrial Design) totaled 10 saves in his 54 minutes of work.
