Men’s Soccer Dominates Ave Maria University

AVE MARIA, Fla. – The SCAD men's soccer team earned their second consecutive win for wrap up regular season play against Ave Maria University 4-1.

  • The Bees are now 5-10, 3-5 SUN.
  • The Gyrenes are 4-10, 0-8 SUN.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • To start off the scoring, Ethan Brooks (Bolton, United Kingdom / Advertising and Branding) scored a goal off an assist from Lewis Gamble (Airdrie, Scotland / Advertising and Branding) at the sixth minute mark giving SCAD the early 1-0 led.
  • Ave Maria scored their only goal at the eight-minute mark.
  • The Bees last goal of the first quarter came from David Temmel (Graz, Austria / Social Strategy and Mangement) with an assist from Jesus Ulloa (Savannah, Ga. / Graphic Design) at the 12-minute mark leaving the score 2-1 going into half time.
  • Getting to the goal early, Ty Bennett (Kingston, Jamacia / Advertising and Branding) scored SCAD's third goal with an assist from Giovanny Lares (Savannah, Ga. / Advertising and Branding) followed by an 84th minute goal from Brooks finishing off the game 4-1.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Bees defense held the Gyrenes to only eight shots.
  • Goalie Connor Friel (Ballymena, Northern Ireland / Advertising and Branding) totaled four saves in his 90 minutes of play.
  • Brooks led the offense with two goals on four shots.
  • Temmel had a total of one goal on three shots followed by Bennett with one goal on five shots.
  • Ulloa totaled one assist and five shots; Lares had one assist and three shots; Gamble had one assist and one shot.
  • Rowan Rathburn (Seattle, Wash. / Animation) totaled two shots.
