Men’s Soccer Ties Second-Straight SUN Game

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The SCAD men's soccer team hosted Warner University and tied them for the second-straight Sun Conference (SUN) tie.

RECORDS
  • The Bees are now 2-2-5, 0-0-2.
  • The Royals are 4-3-3, 0-1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SCAD scored within the first 12 minutes to go up 1-0 when Phillip Holtgen (Munich, Germany / Industrial Design) scored off an assist from Jayden Corbridge (Weymouth, United Kingdom / Advertising and Branding).
  • Neither team scored for the remainder of the half and the Bees took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
  • A corner kick led to a goal for Warner in the 66th minute which knotted the game at one-all.
  • Regulation ended, and another goal was not scored, leading to overtime.
  • Despite dominating both overtime periods, SCAD did not score another goal and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Bees out-shot the Royals 19-13 and totaled 17 corner kicks to Warner's three.
  • Holtgen scored the only goal for the Bees, totaling five shots, two on goal.
  • Corbridge earned the assist and tallied three shots.
  • Four different players totaled two shots each while two totaled one.
