Career Day for Haas Propels No. 5 Bees over Asbury

QUICK GOAL: Freshman Clarke Haas's (Pensacola, Fla. / Fashion Marketing and Management) career day propels No. 5 SCAD women's lacrosse past Asbury University Saturday afternoon.

RECORDS: The Bees finish the regular season 7-1, 7-1 AAC while the Eagles are 4-7 overall.

DID YOU KNOW? Freshman Clarke Haas broke a program record with her 10 goals in a single game. The previous record, of nine, was held by Kayla Nelson, Sydney Knego and Aly De Caro (El Dorado Hills, Calif. / Advertising and Branding).

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees took a quick 4-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game off of goals from Tatum Crouch (Easton, Md. / Fashion Marketing and Management) (2), Allison Thierry (Stevensville, Md. / Interior Design) and Haas.

Asbury scored its first goal at the 19:27 mark but SCAD answered with four more goals – Crouch, De Caro, Haas (2) – to take an 8-1 lead with just over 14 minutes
remaining in the half.

The Eagles scored four more goals in the first half, but it would not be enough as the Bees scored 10 more – Haas (4), Crouch, De Caro (2), Keagan Plume (Glen Arm, Md. / Architecture), Thierry (2) – to take an 18-5 lead into halftime.

Asbury scored the first goal of the second half, but SCAD answered with five goals in just under eight minutes to increase their lead to five. The fifth goal, to give the Bees a 23-6 lead, came from Isabelle Corns (McCordsville, Ind. / Animation) and it was the first goal of her collegiate career.

The Eagles scored three more goals before Thierry and Haas traded goals with Asbury to ultimately earn the 25-11 win.

BOX SCORE: Haas led the scoring charge for the Bees with 10 goals and one assist for a game-high 11 points.

Thierry totaled five goals and one assist for six points while Crouch added four goals with De Caro tallying three goals and two assists for five points.

Corns, Plume and Ainelsy Jones (Harvard, Mass. / Graphic Design) totaled one goal each with Plume and Jones adding one assist a piece.

Plume picked up a game-high three ground balls and a game-high nine draw controls in the win. Crouch tallied four draw controls while Jones and De Caro added three with Gracey Wiley (Olathe, Kan. / Interior Design) adding two.

Goalies Tracy Richards (Poway, Calif. / Visual Effects) and Kallie Collett (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) split time in the cage and totaled three and five saves, respectively.

WHAT'S NEXT: The Bees will travel to Montreat College for the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships April 15-17.
