QUICK GOAL: The No. 9 SCAD men's lacrosse team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponent St. Andrews on Saturday and won 29-7.
BROKEN RECORDS: As a team, the Bees broke the single game record of total caused turnovers, causing 23 in today's game. The previous record of 18 was set in the last game against LaGrange College.
Elliot Fish (Toronto, Ontario, Canada / Film and Television) broke two individual single games record while
JT Smith (West End, N.C. / User Experience (UX) Design) broke one.
Fish broke the single game record in both goals and points scoring 10 goals and totaling 13 points. The previous records of eight goals and 12 points was set by Mason Threlkeld against Flagler on January 26, 2013.
Smith broke the single game ground ball record with 21 ground balls. The junior set the previous record of 15 against Ottawa University on March 18, 2019.
TEAM RECORDS: The Bees improve to 3-0, 2-0 AAC while the Knights fall to 1-2, 0-2 AAC.
HOW IT HAPPENED? The Knights scored the first goal of the game just under two minutes into the game. However, the Bees answered and scored four goals of their own – Fish (2),
Sean Parmer (South Elgin, Ill. / Architecture) and
Banks Maynard (Harrisburg, N.C. / Animation) – to end the first quarter with a 4-1 lead.
SCAD totaled 12 goals – Fish (4), Parmer,
Wolf Zachar (Springfield, Va. / Industrial Design) (3),
Liam Thomas (Brentwood, Tenn. / Motion Media Design) (3) and
Jude Kuhn (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. / Visual Effects) – to St. Andrews' one to go into the half up 17-2.
Smith opened the third quarter with a goal six seconds into the quarter. Zachar and
Jordan Reeves (Mississauga, Canada / Architecture) followed with goals of their own to give the Bees a 19-3 lead.
SCAD scored three more goals – Fish,
Jackson Bryan (Alpharetta, Ga. / User Experience (UX) Design) and Parmer – in the third quarter while St. Andrews scored two to end the quarter with a score of 22-5.
