ROCK HILL, S.C. – SCAD's Oliva Ray dominated – winning five of six USACycling National Titles – as the Bees sent three riders to the USACycling Collegiate Track National Championships in Rock Hill, S.C. on September 12-14.

Oliva Ray, Clayton Stone and Sam Titter-Dower competed on the track for the SCAD Savannah team.

On Thursday morning, Ray qualified and competed in the first-round of the women's sprint. Ray was the only female to break 12 seconds with her qualifying time of 11.85. Interestingly enough, the junior's time would have qualified her 16th in the men's sprint. Ray defeated Fort Lewis College's Tristen Mussleman in the 1/16 round to advance to the 1/8.

The evening session on Thursday saw the women's sprint 1/8 final where Ray defeated Colorado Mesa University's Dafne Theroux Izquierdo head-to-head to advance to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal followed with a best of three format and Ray won handily in two rides over Annalise Oestreich from Kennesaw State University to advance to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, Ray faced off against Lindenwood University's Marissa Carter and won in two rides to advance to the final on Friday evening.

Friday morning brought about the men's pursuit final in which Clayton Stone finished in 42nd with a time of 5:18.463.
Olivia Ray took the silver medal in the women's pursuit final with a time of 3:54.257. The gold medal winner was Junior World Champion Megan Jastrab from Milligan College. Jastrab won the event with a time of 3:46.964, setting a track record in the process.

Friday morning concluded with the men's point qualifier 1 in which Clayton Stone finished seventh with 12 total points to qualify for the final.

In the Friday evening session, Olivia Ray won her first gold medal by defeating Megan Jastrab in two rides in the women's sprint – the second ride came down to a final sprint out of turn four in which Ray overcame Jastrab to win by 0.061 of a second.

Clayton Stone finished 18th in the men's point race final.

The final day of competition was exciting as Oliva Ray started the morning with a dominating win in the women's point race final for her second gold medal. Ray totaled 59 points while Jastrab totaled 50 and SCAD Atlanta's Judah Sencenbaugh finished in third with 30 points.

In the men's time trial, Clayton Stone finished in 18th with a time of 1:11.052 and then went on to qualify for the men's scratch race final with a qualifying finish of 11th-place. Sam Titter-Dower finished in 21st to qualify for the men's scratch race minor final.

Ray won her third gold medal in the women's time trial with a time of 37.615 over Jastrab who finished the two laps in 38.294.

The final session – Saturday evening – started with the women's scratch race final where Oliva Ray won her fourth gold medal. Jastrab and Sencenbaugh finished second and third, respectively.

Sam Titter-Dower finished 16th in the men's scratch race minor final while Clayton Stone finished 21st in the men's scratch race final.

Oliva Ray won her fifth gold medal by winning the USACycling Collegiate Track Individual Omnium National Title. Each time a rider wins gold, they win a Stars-and-Stripes jersey denoting them a National Champion. Ray currently owns 14 Stars-and-Stripes jerseys from her time thus-far competing for SCAD.

When asked about the experience the athletes had this to say – "the racing was tough, fun and we were FEARLESS" stated Olivia Ray. "Through some tough efforts and negative evets, coming away with great memories made it all worthwhile." Sam Titter-Dower adds "track nationals was a great early season warm-up to what will be a great road season."
