Overtime Win Over NCAA DII Erskine for Women’s Soccer

QUICK SCORE: The SCAD women's soccer team overcame NCAA DII Erskine College in overtime by a score of 3-2 at home Wednesday night.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 3-2 while the Flying Fleet are now 1-2.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees scored the first goal of the game when Natalia Zapata found the back of the net off a pass from Annie Sullivan at the 25:31 mark.
 
Neither team scored again as SCAD went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
 
Erskine tied the game at the 66:57 mark but in the 81stminute Zapata found the net again off a pass from Sullivan to take the 2-1 lead.
 
Unfortunately, the Flying Feet tied the game again with less than three minutes remaining to force the tie for overtime.
 
SCAD came out strong in overtime as Caitlin O'Toole scored the game-winner off a pass from Riley Shelton just 33 seconds into overtime.
 
BOX SCORE: The Bees out-shot the Flying Fleet 19-13 with Zapata leading the offensive charge with two goals in three shots. 
 
Sullivan picked up two assists and tallied one shot while O'Toole nabbed one goal on one shot with Shelton earning one assist and taking one shot.
 
Madison Lambert totaled four shots while Hannah Amidon, Helena Godmann and Noel Thompson added two shots each. 
 
Kyra Poro and Rebecca Watson added one shot a piece.
 
Goalie Elisa Dogor earned the win with eight saves in her 90:33 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will remain at home to host No. RV Middle Georgia State University on Tuesday, September 24 at 8:00 p.m.
