QUICK GOAL: The SCAD women's soccer team won its second consecutive 3-0 game on the road at Brenau University Sunday afternoon.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 2-0 to start the season while the Tigers are 0-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD scored their first goal just over nine minutes into the game when
Madison Lambert found the back of the net off an assist from
Rebecca Watson.
With 12 minutes remaining in the first half, the Bees scored again when
Mikaela Heyboer made the shot and
Julia Rauch earned the assist. Heyboer's goal was the last shot in the first half for either team.
The Tigers managed six shots in the second half before the Bees out-shot Brenau 5-1 with the last being a goal form
Natalia Zapata from
Sofia Jonson.
SCAD totaled two more shots, the Brenau's one for the remaining 18 minutes.
BOX SCORE: The Bees out-shot the Tigers 15-11 with seven going on goal to Brenau's four.
Hannah Amidon led SCAD in shots with three, two on goal, while Heyboer and Zapata totaled two shots and one goal each.
Lambert scored the remaining goal with her one shot while
Sam Manelis totaled two shots and Watson,
Annie Sullivan, Rauch,
Noel Thompson and
Savannah Raines tallied one shot each. Watson, Rauch and Jonson added one assist each.
Goalie
Elisa Dogor earned her second win of the season with three saves in 90 minutes of work.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will return home to host the SCAD Coca-Cola Classic on Saturday, August 31 and Monday, September 2.
