No. 10 Men’s Lacrosse Battles No. 8 Keiser in Independent College Conference Final

QUICK SCORE: The No. 10 ranked SCAD men's lacrosse team faced No. 8 Keiser University – for the third time this season – in the Independent College Conference Final and lost a close 11-10 decision Saturday.

RECORDS: The Bees are now 7-4 overall this season while the Seahawks improve to 8-6 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED? Keiser opened the game with a 3-0 lead with the third goal coming at the 9:46 mark.

Jordan Reeves got the Bees on the board after finding the back of the net off a pass from Banks Maynard with just over eight minutes remaining in the quarter.

Both teams traded goals for the remainder of the first quarter with Liam Thomas picking up the second goal of the game for the Bees.

Trailing, 5-2, SCAD opened the second quarter with a goal from Maynard, assisted by Wolf Zachar to cut Keiser's lead to two (5-3).

Zachar scored the last goal for the Bees in the second quarter to the Seahawks' three to go into the half down 8-4.

Again, SCAD scored the first goal of the quarter when Sean Parmer found the net with 14:31 remaining in the third. Parmer scored his second goal at the four minute mark to bring the game to within three (9-6).

Thomas scored the last goal of the third quarter off an assist from Elliot Fish to bring the game to 9-7.

The Bees outscored the Seahawks (3-2) in the fourth quarter with Fish scoring the first at the 12:57 mark. Keiser answered with back to back goals in just under two minutes of play but SCAD's Zachar scored at the 6:07 mark and the 4:20 mark to bring the game to within one (11-10).
 
BOX SCORE: Zachar led the Bees on offense with a hat trick and two assists for five points. The sophomore also added one caused turnover and one ground ball.

Thomas and Parmer totaled two goals with Thomas tallying two assists for four points. Fish, Maynard and Reeves totaled one goal each with Fish and Maynard adding one assist.

JT Smith went 16-24 in face offs and picked up a game-high eight ground balls.

Jackson Bryan led the game in caused turnovers with four while Tyler Hunsaker added two.
Parmer, Matt Tolmer, Dan Saucier, Zachar and Dylan Doremus all had one caused turnover.

Fish totaled five ground balls while Bryan, Parmer, Tolmer, Ross Wiseman and Bryant Aquino all added three. Saucier and Maynard totaled two ground balls while six other players had one for a team total of 38.

Goalie Ross Wiseman totaled 11 saves for the second game in-a-row in his 60 minutes of action.

WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will wait and see if they will earn an At-Large Bid to the NAIA National Championships in Grand Rapids Mich. on May 7-11.
