Men’s Soccer Takes No. 8 SEU to OT in Quarterfinal Loss

QUICK GOAL: The SCAD men's soccer team hosted No. 8 Southeastern University on Saturday in the Sun Conference Quarterfinal and fell 2-1 in overtime.
 
RECORDS: The Bees finish the season with a 7-4-3 record while the Fire improve to 11-5-2.
 
DID YOU KNOW? Earlier in the season, SCAD gave then No. 9 Southeastern its first loss of the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Just under 30 minutes into the first half, the Fire found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Three minutes into the second half Jayden Corbridge scored on a penalty kick to knot the game at 1-1.
 
Neither team scored for the remainder of regulation forcing overtime.
 
Unfortunately, Southeastern scored with 47 second remaining in the first overtime period to earn the 2-1 win and they will advance to the semifinals.
 
BOX SCORE: Goalie Joe Parker made some great saves in the loss and totaled six saves while allowing two goals in his 99:13 minutes of work.
 
Corbridge, Tom Barry and Matteo Tizzano totaled two shots each while Ty Bennett, Lewis Gamble, McKinley Fodness and Billy Mitchell totaled one.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? This marks the end of the season for the Bees.
