JAKARTA PALEMBANG, Indonesia – Incoming SCAD men's golfer is representing Bhutan in the 2018 Asian Games from August 23-26.

The Asian Games are the "biggest multi-sport games after the Olympic Games" according to the official website.
The games began in 1951, and this year marks the 18th installment as they occur every four years. The last time the games were held in Indonesia was in 1962.

In total, there are 58 sports with 11,000 athletes competing from 46 countries.

Dorji is competing in the men's golf individual competition at the Pondok Indah Golf & Country Club. He is currently tied for 40th in a field of 86 participants.

"Representing your country is one of the greatest feelings you can have but that also brings a lot of pressure which is why I have trained very hard these last few weeks to fine tune my game" states Dorji. "I am very grateful to have been chosen to represent Bhutan in the 2018 Asian games and look forward to competing with the best athletes in the world. I am also looking forward to be attending SCAD this fall, I can't wait to play with the team and I feel a great year ahead."

Dorji joins SCAD in the fall of 2018. The Bees open their season on September 16 at the Keiser Kup by Golfino at the PGA National Resort and Spa – Palmer Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
