Box Score QUICK STORY: The No. 1 ranked SCAD women's lacrosse team trounced Ave Maria 25-8 on the road Sunday morning.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 11-0 on the season while the Gyrenes fall to 1-11.
DID YOU KNOW? This is the eighth game this season in which SCAD has won by more than double digits and the eighth time the Bees have scored more than 20 goals in a game.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bees dominated in all categories outscoring the Gyrenes 15-6 in the first half and only allowing two goals to their 10 in the second.
SCAD picked up 39 ground balls to Ave Maria's 31 and won 27 draw controls to the Gyrenes' eight.
The Bees took a 4-0 lead just over two minutes into the first half before Ave Maria got on the board with its first goal at the 26:49 mark.
SCAD went on to score 11 more goals to Ave Maria's five to go into halftime with a 15-6 lead.
The Bees scored the first seven goals of the second half allowing Ave Maria only two in 30 minutes on their way to the 25-8 win.
BOX SCORE: Sydney Knego led the way for SCAD scoring a game high five goals and totaling one assist for six points. She tallied a game high 10 draw controls to go along with two ground balls and one caused turnover.
Drew Dowgiallo and
Jo Mitchell totaled four goals and three assists for a game-high seven points while
Taylor Vaccaro and
Casey Summerson added seven points with three goals and four assists.
Shannon Flaherty scored three goals on three shots with six ground balls and three draw controls.
Goalies
Magie Lortz and
Cameron Dolan split time in the cage and picked up three saves and one save, respectively.
