Box Score QUICK SCORE: The No. 1 SCAD women's lacrosse team ended its spring break trip with another win Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 8 Georgetown 21-10.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 8-0 while the Tigers fall to 5-5 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Tigers scored the first goal of the game, but the Bees answered with six goals of their own to take a 6-1 lead.
Both teams managed four more goals in the first half allowing SCAD to maintain its five-point lead (10-5).
The Bees came out strong in the second half, scoring three goals in less than a minute. The Tigers answered with three goals of their own but SCAD scored six more consecutive goals to take a 19-8 lead with 12:03 on the clock.
Both teams scored two more goals with
Drew Dowgiallo scoring the last goal of the game at the 1:29 mark to give SCAD the 21-10 win.
BOX SCORE: Shannon Flaherty and
Drew Dowgiallo led the way for the Bees, scoring five goals each with both adding two assists for a total of seven points.
Taylor Vaccaro,
Harper Barth and
Jo Mitchell totaled three goals with Mitchell adding five assists for a game-high eight points.
Sydney Knego tallied two goals and four assists for six points.
Vaccaro nabbed a team-high six groundballs and one caused turnover while Flaherty and Knego added six draw controls.
Maggie Lortz spent just under 49 minutes in the goal and totaled five saves while
Cameron Dolan tallied one save in her 11:20 minutes of work.
