QUICK HIT: The No. 20 SCAD Savannah men's tennis team fell 6-3 to No. 14 College of Coastal Georgia on Senior Day Friday afternoon.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-7 overall this season while Coastal Georgia improves to 15-5.
SENIOR DAY: Prior to the start of the match, SCAD's two senior members –
Yulin Liu and
Luis Eduardo Jimenez – of the team were recognized.
DOUBLES ACTION: The Bees led 2-1 at the completion of doubles as
Sean Hajdu and
Kosta Sevic won 9-8 (6-3) at number one doubles and
Quentin Staley and
Mateo Fernandez won 8-3 in the number three spot.
Liu and
Daiki Naka lost 8-4 at number two doubles.
SINGLES: Despite the 2-1 lead at the end of doubles, SCAD only scored one more point when Naka won 6-0, 6-0 at number two singles.
Hajdu fell 6-0, 6-3 at number one singles while Liu and Staley lost 6-1, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-3 in the numbers three and four singles positions, respectively.
Fernandez dropped his number five singles match 6-4, 6-2 while Sevic fell 6-2, 6-1 at number six singles.
