QUICK HIT: The SCAD men's tennis team continues its win streak as the Bees defeated Warner 5-4 at home Saturday evening.
RECORDS: SCAD is now 6-6 overall, 4-2 Sun Conference, this season while Warner falls to 7-3, 2-3.
TOURNAMENT BOUND: With this win, the Bees have finished third in the Sun Conference standings and will travel to Miami, Florida to compete in the Sun Conference Tournament on April 20-22.
2-1 AFTER DOUBLES: SCAD led 2-1 at the completion of doubles.
Yulin Liu and
Daiki Naka won 8-3 at number two doubles while
Quentin Staley and
Josh Tewes-McCoy won 8-4 at number three doubles.
Sean Hajdu and
Kosta Sevic fell 8-4 at number one doubles.
NAIL BITER: After Warner won five and six singles, Liu won the first point in singles competition (7-6 (7-5), 6-3) at number three singles to tie the match at three-all.
At this point, Staley won his number four singles match (6-3, 7-5) to give the Bees a 4-3 lead. Hadju clinched the win for the Bees when he won his number one singles match 7-5, 3-6, 6-2.
The Royals won the last match as Naka fell 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 in the number two singles position.
Tewes-McCoy lost 6-4, 6-2 at number five singles and
Mateo Fernandez dropped his number six singles match 6-1, 6-3.
WHAT'S NEXT? SCAD remains at home to host Coastal Georgia on Friday, April 7 at 10:00 a.m.
