Savannah, Georgia – The SCAD men's tennis team got off to a strong start and defeated Webber International 9-0, Saturday afternoon at Bacon Park. With the win the Bees improve to 2-6 overall and 2-2 against the Sun Conference, while the Warriors fall to 1-6 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
Yulin Liu and Josh Tewes-McCoy got the scoring started with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. Sean Hadju and Kenta Naka won their second straight match at No. 1 doubles to give the Bees a 2-0 lead. No. 2 doubles earned a 9-8 (8-6) win to give SCAD a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
SCAD swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Kosta Sevic, playing his first match of the season, defeated Gustavo Fortunato 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
In SCAD's two wins they have outscored their opponent 17-1.
The Bees will return to the court tomorrow, March 16, when they face Campbellsville. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Bacon Park.
