Statesboro, Georgia – Kenta Naka won his second straight match at No. 6 singles, but it wasn't enough as the SCAD men's tennis team fell to Georgia Southern 6-1 Sunday afternoon at Wallis Tennis Center. With the win the Eagles improve to 6-3, while the Bees fall to 1-5.
Georgia Southern won No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to capture the doubles point.
The Eagles won four straight singles matches to take a 5-0 lead and clinch the match. Naka defeated Nico de Groof 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) to cut the deficit to 5-1. At No. 2 singles, Sean Hajdu won the first set 6-3, before dropping the final two sets 6-2, 6-1 for the 6-1 final.
The Bees return to the court Saturday, March 5, when they host 12th-ranked Reinhardt at 2 p.m. at Bacon Park.
