Box Score Georgetown, Kentucky - The top-ranked SCAD women's lacrosse team had ten different players score at least one goal en route to a 16-1 win over Asbury Saturday afternoon at iHigh.com Field. With the win the Bees improve to 7-2, while the Ealges falls to 2-5.
SCAD got off to a fast start netting a goal on each of their first three possessions. Getting the scoring started was
Charlotte Cutts who netted a goal and assisted the other two. Minutes later,
Kayla Nelson caused an Eagles turnover, picked up the ground ball, and netted a goal to extend the Bees lead to 4-0. Cutts then connected with
Charlotte Walters and Nelson for goals to extend the lead to 6-0.
Kirsten Carr and
Alyssa Stetson netted back-to-back goals to give SCAD an 8-0 advantage with 18:52 remaining in the first half. The score remained 8-0 untl the 6:07 mark when
Taylor Vaccaro found
Cara Sebag cutting towards to cage for a goal. Vaccaro and Flaherty scored back-to-back goals to give SCAD at 11-0 lead at the break.
The strong offensive performance continued in the second half as Walters found
Joanna Ehatt for a goal. Minutes later,
Jordan Cook netted an unassisted goal to extend the lead to 13-0. SCAD scored three of the final four goals for the 16-1 final.
Cutts led the Bees with six points, while Nelson finished with two goals and three assists. Flaherty, Vaccaro, and Walters each tallied three points in the win.
Shaina Levin led SCAD with three ground balls.
Jenny Danko made six saves in the win.
The Bees will return to action tomorrow when they face #2 Davenport. Game time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
