Box Score Waleska, Georgia – Charlotte Walters scored the game-winning goal with 2:50 left to give the top-ranked SCAD women's lacrosse team an 11-10 win over fourth-ranked Indiana Tech Friday afternoon at Ken White Field. With the win the Bees improve to 6-1, while the Warriors fall to 3-3.

The Bees struck first as Torii Clark netted an unassisted goal two minutes into the game.  Shannon Flaherty and Kayla Nelson scored back-to-back goals to extend the lead to 3-0 with 21:41 remaining in the opening period.  Indiana Tech scored three unanswered goals, over the course of seven minutes, to tie the game.  The Bees responded as Sophie Cutts found Nelson in front of the cage for the goal.  The Warriors scored four of the next five goals to take a 7-5 lead with 36 seconds remaining in the first half.  Walters won the ensuing draw control and on the Bees possession Clark connected with Joanna Ehatt for a goal to cut the deficit to 7-6 at the break.

SCAD carried the momentum into the second half as Nelson scored three straight goals to give the Bees a 9-7 advantage.  Indiana Tech tied the game before Danni Cox converted a free position shot to give SCAD a 10-9 lead with 11:22 remaining. The score remained until the 5:12 mark when Alexa Winter found Alexis Digiovanni for an Indiana Tech goal to even the score 10-10.  Minutes later, SCAD took advantage of a Warriors turnover as Ehatt connected with Walters for the man-down goal to give the Bees an 11-10 lead.  Indiana Tech had a chance to tie the game but Jenny Danko made two saves in the final two minutes to secure the victory.

Nelson led the Bees converting all five of her shots into goals.  It's the fourth time this season that Nelson has scored five goals in a game.  Ehatt tallied two goals and an assist, while Clark and Cutts each tallied a pair of points.

Danko made elven saves to improve to 6-1 in the cage this season.  Lauren Thomas led the Bees backline with two caused turnovers and three ground balls.

SCAD returns to action next weekend when they travel to Georgetown, Kentucky to play three games in three days.  The Bees will face fourth-ranked Georgetown Friday at 8 p.m., Asbury Saturday at 3 p.m., and second-ranked Davenport Sunday at 11 a.m.
