SAVANNAH, GA – Facing the second Division I opponent of the season, the 19
th-ranked SCAD men's tennis team fell 6-1 to College of Charleston Friday afternoon at Bacon Park. With the win the Cougars improve to 1-1, while the Bees fall to 1-2 overall.
College of Charleston jumped out to an early lead sweeping all three of the doubles matches to earn the first point of the match.
The Bees battled back in singles play led by
Kenta Naka. After dropping the first set at number one singles, Naka won the second the third set to even the score at 1-1. After dropping the first set, Sean Haju won the second set 6-4 to even the score, before dropping the third set giving the Cougars at 2-1 lead.
College of Charleston won the other matches in straight sets for the 6-1 win.
The men will be back in action tomorrow, February 7, in a conference match-up against Southeastern. Match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Bacon Park,
