SCAD Match Results

It was a day that everything came together for the Women's Lacrosse Team.  Not that they had not had good results in their first three games - they had won them all.  It was in the sense that both offensively and defensively the Lady Bees showed why they are the defending national champions.  In a game with conference opponent Tennessee Wesleyan College (TWC) the Lady Bees played well in every area of their game.

Defensively they held their opponents to just 6 goals.  TWC took 20 shots and connected on just 6 of them.  SCAD goalie Jenny Danko had 14 saves to deny the Bullddogs any opportunity of playing catchup with the Bees.  At every turn the Bees put pressure on TWC's attaclk by denying them penetration.

While the defense offered the stiff resistance, the offense jumped on the Bulldogs from the initial Draw Control.  Before the clock had clicked off 6 minutes the Lady Bees had scored 7 goals to take a 7-0 lead.  And before the first half ended the Bees scored 3 more to take a 10-2 lead into halftime.  The second half was just as effective as SCAD enlarged the lead by finishing the half with an additional 7-4 scoring advantage.

It was a good day for the black and gold both defensively and offensively.  The Bees' Charlotte Cutts had an exceptional day at work.  She scored 6 goals.  The other 11 goals were spread among 7 of her teammates.  It was definitely a team effort today that brought the Bees to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference standings.   Another plus for SCAD is that all of their victories thus far have been on the road.  The Lady Bees will now return to the friendly confines of the SCAD Athletic Complex to play their next four games.

The first home game for the ladies will take place 2/25 when Newberry College comes to Savannah.  The game will begin at 5 pm.  Come out and offer home support for your Lady Bees as they hope to continue their good play on the field.  Go Bees!.
